For those of us who cherish the smallest of things, found, given or inherited, Project Keepsake validates our desires and feelings. As I read the stories, I thought of all the little “keepsakes” I have stored away; items that only have meaning to me, even though I hope they will someday for my children and grandchildren. I would had enjoyed this book much more if the editors or authors would had stayed through to the course, that is only covering true fairy or little men, or other fairy beings encounters. A myriad of diverse subjects were covered, some vaguely having to do with the fairy realm. Better luck next time.

I was still running my offline company at that time and did not have the time to do it, but about six months ago I said: "fuck it, I'm starting the book right now, I want to tell people how to build million dollar companies no matter where they are and what situation they are in..." and there it is - "Getting Rich The New School Way" is the result. I have done a lot of stuff, have created a lot of products, have done a lot of good, have served a lot of people, but have never done anything that makes me as proud as this book.

If it doesn't blow your mind I'll meet with you and let you kick me in the butt LOL.

Oh, I almost forgot, I watched a movie recently and the guy said: "no matter how rich you become shit still happens. There are two things you can't escape - death and shit. This guy must have read the book, shit happens, but it doesn't matter, you get up, learn your lesson and make more money.

Amazing Life Story (with many laughs and "OH MY GOD!"s along the way)

Vladi wrote a fantastic book.

It's not your "average" book - it's much more than that.

It's about a young man with a dream who fought through everything for his wellbeing - and who seems to enjoy life no matter what.

Although the "lessons" are classics, he manages to put a personal twist on them that make you explore them from a deeper point of view.

If you want to laugh out loud, feel nostalgic and appreciate "the struggle" even more - read this book. You won't regret it, definitely.

A kid-teaser and pleaser

Jack Crackbone is a bullying story told with the simplistic cartoons that kids crave--in the style of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but with less written language. An added appeal is that it starts off "scary." The bully character turns out to be just another hurting human who wants to be liked. From my fifteen years' experience working with kids, I think the book will be a kid-pleaser.

Exactly what I was looking for

I purchased this book to prep for technical interviews and it was just what I was looking for. Each topic is covered thoroughly and should serve well whether you're learning for the first time or just need a refresher (like me). The example code is clean and compact, and there are lots of colorful figures throughout. The book itself is also nice and compact, about the size of a large novel rather than a huge backbreaking textbook.

My only (very small) complaint is that the code doesn't follow the PEP 8 style guide.

At last! This is the book every AIDS-watcher has been awaiting, in which the most prominent and persistent critic of HIV as the cause of AIDS presents his case most exhaustively and popularly. Duesberg, himself a virologist, stoutly maintains that HIV cannot cause AIDS because it fails to meet the rules by which a virus is implicated as disease-causing. He says that the causes of AIDS in First World countries most probably are overuse of toxic drugs--by legal prescription (e.g., AZT) as well as illicit use (e.g., the nitrite inhalants known as poppers that are used to enhance sexual capability)--and multiple and repeated infections with venereal diseases; in the Third World, they are malnutrition and maladies (e.g., tuberculosis) rare in wealthy nations but still prevalent in poor ones as well as, again, substance abuse. Duesberg massively documents and cogently argues these positions but not before laying out the historic and political reasons why most members of his profession and related medical specialists seized on a viral causation for AIDS. Basically, virologists wanted another success like that with polio and, frustrated by complete failure to find viral causes for cancer, took up AIDS as the perfect challenge as well as, once HIV was discovered, a ticket for prolonging their first-class ride on the medical research gravy train. A well-credentialed scientist's hard-driving attack on the accepted view that AIDS is an infectious disease caused by HIV. Duesberg (Molecular biology/Univ. of Calif., Berkeley), an early researcher in the field of retroviruses, asserts that HIV, like virtually all retroviruses, is harmless. He finds that HIV meets none of the usual criteria (such as the six laws of virology) used to establish that a microbe causes disease. But if that is so, why do scientists persist in saying that AIDS is an epidemic caused by HIV? As Duesberg tells it, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention needed a serious epidemic to justify its continued existence, and by naming AIDS a single contagious disease, it created an atmosphere of public fear that brought it increased funding and power. The biomedical establishment took note. Having failed to find a viral cause of cancer, Duesberg says, virus hunters needed a new disease, and AIDS was it. The HIV-AIDS connection was then announced by Robert Gallo, head of a retrovirus lab at the National Cancer Institute, at a 1984 press conference rather than demonstrated in a peer- reviewed scientific paper. Further, Duesberg charges, the pharmaceutical companies exploited the situation by bringing back highly toxic failed cancer drugs, such as AZT, which, he says, destroys the immune system and causes AIDS-like symptoms. Duesberg cites other scientists who have questioned the HIV-AIDS hypothesis, among them several Nobel laureates, including Kary Mullis (for Chemistry), the author of this book's foreword. Duesberg's own theory is that AIDS is linked to the use of immunity-suppressing illicit drugs (such as crack and ``poppers''), and he urges investigation along these lines. One need not accept Duesberg's drug hypothesis, however, to be persuaded that the serious charges he makes deserve serious answers. A controversial book, certain to be met with strong resistance from the biomedical establishment. Dr. Peter Duesberg has told us the terrible truth, and it must be suppressed.

One of the largest mass murders in world history has been successfully covered up by the state through their control of schools and media. HIV does not cause AIDS. It never did, and our government and leading scientists have always known this fact. Our own doctors poisoned us without even knowing what they were doing; just blindly following authority figures and trying to hold on to their medical licenses. 650,000 human beings murdered in the U.S. alone with medically prescribed variants of the deadly chemotherapy HIV drug AZT, and other cleverly disguised lies .

The proof of this is easily verified. If HIV were really the cause of AIDS, and AIDS was really sexually transmissible then why hasn't AIDS simply decimated Latin America by now? Are all of the HIV carriers in Latin America being given expensive antiviral drugs at the expense of their governments as well? Why aren't we hearing on the news stories of the overwhelming cost of medicating illegal aliens who have HIV? Why aren't illegal aliens dying in the street in droves of untreated AIDS? This is a fact that you know is true, and there is no need for a group of government scientists to tell you about statistics, laboratory tests, or magical drugs in order for you to believe it.

By the way, AIDS is also caused by malnutrition. This explains the deaths in Africa. It seems that when people are horrible undernourished for years their immune systems tend to collapse.

This is the sort of secret that could change the very nature of our civilization if it were widely understood by the masses. Our leaders know this.

Unfortunately, in order to understand Dr Duesberg' s argument you must first hear it, and then you must be able to reason through the evidence for your self. Well, this is where the state has us by the throats:
(1) You will never hear Dr. Duesberg' s arguments regarding HIV on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, or any other mainstream news channel. You'll never read them in mainstream print. The state has locked him out of every platform from which to inform the masses except through this book. And through us.
(2) What Arthur Schopenhauer called "the science of the process of pure reason" (i.e., formal/classical logic) hasn't been taught in state controlled public schools for at least seven generation. Formal logic has been recognized since its invention in 350 B.C. as the most effective way to analyze arguments in order to determine whether they or not they are correctly reasoned. According to Aristotle you should ensure that an argument is "sound" or "cogent" before you believe it with confidence. Ask any group of average U.S. adults what the logical terms sound or cogent mean. Not one in twenty will be able to give you a correct answer. And this is no accident.

Here's are a few concise and accurate definitions that apply to both inductive and deductive reasoning that you may find helpful:

"Fallacious reasoning is just the opposite of what can be called cogent reasoning. We reason cogently when we reason (1) validly; (2) from premises well supported by evidence; and (3) using all relevant evidence we know of. The purpose of avoiding fallacious reasoning is, of course, to increase our chances of reasoning cogently."

After checking many of the Amazon profile pages of people who have reviewed 'Inventing the AIDS Virus' I found out something very disturbing. The majority of the reviews of this book are not listed on the reviewers' profile page. This can be easily and quickly corrected by Amazon of course, but it does have the effect of further suppressing and isolating Dr. Duesberg' s views. And I suspect that this is no accident.

YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!!

A great expose of the biggest scientific/medical blunder in human history. And I'm NOT exaggerating.
This is one of the most important books ever written. Don't be fooled by the hysterical critiques by people who have probably never read the book. Apparently they lost their critical thinking faculties years ago and just prefer to parrot the establishment view on everything in life. I used to believe that HIV caused AIDS, because like most people THAT'S ALL I WAS TOLD! Then I found an article about this book in a magazine, read the book, delved into the AIDS dissident movement at virusmyth.net, and the whole thing took off from there. Yes, people are dying of something the establishment decided to call "AIDS". But it isn't caused by HIV! You've heard the word "AIDS" so many times that you have a fear response conditioned into you. You can't even think about it without being disturbed. Just give up your hysteria and use your brain.
If you think that HIV causes AIDS, and that it's been "proven", you don't know ANYTHING about it.
Just read this book, put aside all of the [stuff] you were taught by the media and your high-school health teacher, and think for yourself. In fact, people NOT thinking for themselves is what propels the insane "HIV causes AIDS" nonsense in the first place. The establishment theory is just plain stupid, as anyone with sense can see after reading this book or the others like it.
Duesberg is a genius, and anyone who actually has a freethinking brain left in his/her head will realize that upon reading this book. Yes, it will blow your mind. After you read it, you'll feel like you're living in the Matrix or something. But Duesberg's argument is EXCELLENT, perfectly explained, and heavily notated. Be brave; dare to read something that challenges the lies we were all taught!
Another great site with information that contests the "HIV causes AIDS" nonsense theory is virusmyth.net. It contains hundreds and hundreds of articles from all over the place that can fill out the picture for you. You should visit that website, because while this book is excellent, it's only the tip of the iceberg. Hundreds of eminent scientists from all over the world, including Nobel Prize winners, disagree with the b.s. that HIV causes AIDS. But you never hear about them, do you?
The notion that HIV causes AIDS is the biggest scientific blunder in human history. You owe it to yourself and the world to read this book.

Ilogical Minds won't like this book...

Duesberg has courage. He has nothing to gain by raising the questions he does, and in fact has paid a high price for his questions. Let's not call them his 'views' because in fact, this book shows that he is a true scientist. While others throw scientific method out the window in the name of their reputations and in the name of money, Duesberg hasn't sold his soul to the drug companies. Someday, this wonderful book will be required reading in every medical school. And how many healthy people will have to be killed by toxic AZT before the ringleaders admit their folly?
Read this book with an open, logical mind, and it will change the way you feel about the press, doctors, and medical researchers forever.

About the Author

Colin G. Scanes is a professor of Animal Science at Iowa State University. He was educated in the UK with a B.S. from Hull University and Ph.D. from the University of Wales. He was formerly on the faculty at the University of Leeds and Rutgers—the State University of New Jersey where he was department chair. He has published extensively in poultry and animal science with 10 books and over 500 papers. He has received numerous awards, including election as a fellow of the Poultry Science Association and Honorary Professor at the Agricultural University of Ukraine.

George Brant is a Professor of Animal Science at Iowa State University. He received his undergraduate education at Oklahoma State University (graduating in 1963). His graduate education was at Oklahoma State University (Master of Science, 1965) and University of California-Davis (Doctor of Philosophy, 1971) . He is a longtime member of the Poultry Science Association. Dr. Brant teaches extensively in animal science: basic concepts of animal science, domestic animal physiology, poultry science, companion animal science, companion animal systems management, agriculture travel course preparation, and agriculture travel course (AnS 496).

M. E. Ensminger (1908-1998) grew up on a Missouri farm. He was educated at the University of Missouri (B.S. and M.S.) and the University of Minnesota (Ph.D.). He was on the staff of the University of Massachusetts, then Minnesota, and finally Washington State University (serving as department head). He was president of the Agriservices Foundation.

Dr. Ensminger authored 22 books on animal, dairy, beef, and sheep science and nutrition (some are translated into several languages) and numerous articles. His international recognition stemmed from his service to the animal industry, and his book, together with his International Stockman's Schools and his International Ag-Tech Schools. He received numerous awards.

Just as poultry production throughout the world has undergone tremendous changes and growth, this book has been radically revised to reflect this. Building on the strengths of the series of books by M. E. Ensminger, we have concentrated in this extensive revision on accurately reflecting both the science on which poultry production is based and the fundamentals of the industry. This is an extensive revision and updating of the third edition of Poultry Science (published in 1992). Many new figures and photographs are included to illustrate formation and to reflect today's poultry production and the diversity of poultry. The book includes the various facets of poultry production ranging from broiler chickens, eggs, turkeys, ducks, geese, ostriches, and other ratites and game birds. It includes the industry (U.S. and world), poultry biology, development, genetics, production, processing, and marketing. New chapter/sections have been added on food safety, welfare, and environmental issues together with emerging issues including organic production. Increased attention is focused on the structure of the industry, the wide variety of poultry products on the market, new developments (including social and ethical issues), and broiler breeders.

The book is intended as an introduction to poultry science courses, particularly units in poultry science at colleges in North America and throughout the world. It should also provide a useful overview of the poultry industry for business and engineering and other graduates entering the poultry industry. To aid updating, reference is made to pertinent websites. It is hoped the volume will be useful to small- and medium-sized producers, for poultry and game birds, poultry farmers, and future farmers. The appendices specifically address issues of special interest to these types of producers. The volume will provide a useful resource for extension educators and instructors in general courses in animal sciences.

Although written in the United States, the book attempts to be useful to students, faculty, and the industry throughout North America together with South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Units are provided in both the U.S. and metric systems. Issues particularly appropriate to countries in the European Union are now included. Recognizing the role of small- and medium-sized producers and critical niche markets (e.g., organic and free range), pertinent issues are addressed in the text together with a series of appendices specifically directed toward the small- and medium-sized producer.

Excellent source of information regarding chickens and turkeys

Received as advertised. Good condition. An enjoyable, informative read for ones poultry needs particularly regarding chickens and turkeys. The book does not go into much detail in regard to ratites so if you are looking to learn more about ostriches, rhea, or game birds I will tell you that this book is not for you, you should look elsewhere.

Youth run wild

A gang of four alienated teens raise cain all over El Paso, Texas in this, one of Rechy's earlier novels. The teens--a jaded rich girl; her two male friends; and the "fourth angel" who joins them, a young man recovering from his mother's death--turn to drugs and a little bit of the old ultraviolence to block out the pain of their lives.
As an examination of troubled youth, this novel sometimes plunges into the kind of cliches I associate with bad JD movies (emotionally wounded kids rebelling against hypocritical society, etc., etc.). But Rechy manages to create four vivid, distinct characters here; they're more complex than the street-corner nihilists they proclaim themselves to be--and that's exactly the point. Tight prose and a quick pace are additional assets. Though not as impressive as "City of Night," it's a readable book that hasn't dated much (except for the occasional "far out!" dialogue) since its initial publication in 1972, whereas Bret Easton Ellis' vaguely similar "Less Than Zero" feels lost in the '80s. It's worth reading.

Ms. Bossypants and a Trio of Malcontents

I don't know why I keep punishing myself with John Rechy's oeuvre. Earlier this year I read RUSHES, which I really disliked, but this book I really really disliked. THE FOURTH ANGEL, published in 1972, is the story of three "angels," two boys and a girl who pick up a fourth "angel," a boy whose mother had recently died. Basically the four of them interrogate homosexuals and get high. This all takes place in a dusty Texas town near the Rio Grande. I counted at least five times that the gang hitchhikes, and in none of those cases did anything interesting happen. There is a sexually charged, homoerotic undertone to the whole book that is abruptly and unrealistic flung at the reader in the final pages. The time period reeks of the counterculture, and there is an interesting scene at the river when all of these disparate types merge, but Rechy's beautiful writing is for naught because of the incomprehensible plotting. There is an extended LSD scene (maybe 1/3 of the book) where the characters have taken the drug and float around town. Only in HAIR is a trip entertaining (or MAD MEN), and this one is dull dull dull. And so hard to follow. I so loved Rechy's CITY OF NIGHT (and even the campy COMING OF THE NIGHT) that I suppose I'll follow him to the end, but maybe just the ones with ambiguous hustlers.

About the Author
Andrew Hunt is an experienced teacher, examiner and author. He has taken a leading role in the Nuffield Chemistry, Twenty First Century Science and Science in Society projects. He taught advanced chemistry course in schools for 20 years and has written a variety of successful chemistry textbooks including an AS and A2 textbook/CD-ROM series. In 1988 I was awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry Award in Chemical Education. I was a founder member and director of the Association for Science Education's SATIS project to promoted the public understanding of science through the school curriculum. This interest continues with the development of a new AS course called 'Science for Public Understanding'. I am also part of the management team for another ASE project called Science across the World which creates opportunities for students in schools all over the world to explore issues related to science in society and then exchange their findings with students in other countries by fax or e-mail.
