Maryanne Confoy, RSC, a religious of the Sisters of Charity of Australia, is professor of pastoral theology at the Jesuit Theological College and the United Faculty of Theology in Melbourne, Victoria. She is visiting professor at the Institute of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry at Boston College.

A thorough review

I have to start by being honest and saying that my interest in this book was focused on the 1/3rd of the book about Perfectae Caritatis, the Vatican II document on the Renewal of Religious Life. That section was excellent. Some might find it technical but it really offers an in depth review of all that went on behind the scenes to produce this ground breaking document. It was a real eye opener for me. I read it when it was first published in 2008 and it's on my short list to reread now that we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vatican II.
