About the Author

Victoria Bernal is Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of California, Irvine. She is the author of Nation as Network: Diaspora, Cyberspace, and Citizenship and Cultivating Workers: Peasants and Capitalism in a Sudanese Village.

Inderpal Grewal is Chair of the Program in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Yale University. She is the author of Transnational America: Feminisms, Diasporas, Neoliberalisms and Home and Harem: Nation, Gender, Empire and Cultures of Travel, both also published by Duke University Press.

NOT for learning how to apply extensions!!

For some reason I thought all these different lash goddesses where going to share how they apply lashes snd give their tricks of the trade. Not what it was at all. It is about each individual and how they got into a business. I did find it interesting sort of to browse through but learned nothing about how lash extensions should be applied. Which is what I thought I bought. My own fault. I should have looked closer at description I guess. So depending on if u want a book to learn more about application (dont buy) or 20 womens individual stories of business (do buy)

Lash Masters Book is a Must Read for lash professionals

When I heard about this book it sounded pretty interesting. When I heard the people who were contributing to the book, I was blown away. These are the top women in the industry, from all over the world, that are making exciting changes to the industry - they are the "movers and shakers" of the lash extension world. I've met a couple of them briefly through advanced training classes I've attended, but hearing their different stories - how they got started, how they stay successful, and what ideas they have brought to the industry, was eye opening. These ladies are more than "Lash Masters", they are brilliant visionaries that inspire others to do more and be more. They are a testament to, "If you work hard and surround yourself with the right people, anything is possible".
This book is full of useful information for both entry- and expert-level eyelash extension professionals. If you are in the business, or looking to get into this business, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book. It's worth every penny!

Very inspiring!

I loved the book! It's very inspiring to me and it would be a great source to have for any starting up lash artist. I can relate to all in some way. After reading the book I just wanted to sit down and start writing my next business plan!

I got to learn how great success on this women started and that's very motivating!

This is a "must read" for anyone in sales! The crisp message focused on YOU and what YOU can do to be successful is the core of Dustin's message.Every chapter will have an impact on how you sell, and how you approach every customer. "The attitude of the seller is more important than the attitude of the buyer" comes to mind every day- not just with the customers I sell to, but with my team. The step by step guide on how to close a sale in Chapter 5 has been at my desk for weeks- I read it every day! This book is a must in your toolkit to make your business successful.

Most small business owners today struggle with how to successfully manage all of the newer internet technology for sales and marketing and this is where this book shines. There are a lot of great sales and marketing books but none of them are as up-to-date as the technologies and techniques discussed in this book. Excellent Project Management resource for heavy engineering and construction projects

There are multitudes of books on project management but they are very general and not specific to engineering or heavy construction projects. This book is directed at complex engineering projects. It would definitely a good introduction to project management for engineering students and I recommend it for project management professionals early in their careers. The material is also suitable for sharing portions with non-project managers such as commercial and operations to better understand the challenges and role of project managers better. The book covers the full range of project management for engineering projects from initiation, early estimating, budgeting, work breakdown, scheduling, construction, risk management, and close out. It also covers soft project management skills related to project teams and personal management.
